Pocket Physics

EPF would like to invite you to the competition “Pocket Physics”! You will find the rules of the competition below.

Practical information The Pocket Physics Show should be ready before SP12 in Bergen, where they will be presented during the conference. The winner will then be selected by the Committee and the audience. This, of course, requires that everybody brings there their Pocket Physics to the conference.

Requirements All the experiments and materials have to fit in the box, when it is fully closed. The box is 10.2 times 6.2 times 2.2 cm on the outside and with rounded cornors.It is made from a ferro magnetic metal. The box itself can be part of the experiment(s). Any extra materials from everyday life, which is common to have at hand, like water, clothes, lighter or a coin, are allowed. It is allowed to use materials not contained in the box, if it is very normal to have at hand, like water, clothes or a coin. Evaluation criteria
• Number and combination of doable experiments from the box content.
• Innovation, creativity and entertainment value of experiments.
• Versatility of the box content (are the objects usable for more than one experiment).
• The entertainment value of the experiments.
• Mass production feasibility.

We are collecting the physical adresses of the shows, to be able to mail this dokument, and the box to all of you. So if you have not yet providet this, pleas email it to Grzegorz Brzezinka at greg@europhysicsfun.org
